Chapter 2

In the United States the government gets involved in foreign affairs, policing other nations keeping the threat of war. They hold this power with an iron fist ready to beat down on anyone who they see as a threat. This has gone on for a very long time where the American Government can barely keep a stable economy but they are the first on call when there is a massive earthquake.
Back in 1949 at the start of the Vietnam War where North Vietnam was changing into a communist nation after its revolution from the Japanese and French Colonial Administrations. The United States went there to help take back control helping the Southern Vietnam forces who were fighting against the north stated in this quote. “The Vietnam War was a long, costly armed conflict that pitted the communist regime of North Vietnam and its southern allies, known as the Viet Cong, against South Vietnam and its principal ally, the United States. The war began in 1954 (though conflict in the region stretched back to the mid-1940s),” In this war the government didn’t have the full support of the people wondering why we were there.
In 2000 The United States Government sent united states soldiers into Iraq called a police action and had the soldiers running around fighting a terrorist group to fight for resources disguised as the police action where they just go after people who cause trouble.”In other events, the Congress had not made a formal declaration of war, yet the President, as the commander-in-chief, has claimed authority to send in the armed forces when he deemed necessary, with or without the approval of Congress. The legal legitimacy of each of these actions was based upon declarations such as the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution and Iraq Resolution by Congress and various United Nations resolutions. Nonetheless, Congressional approval has been asserted by means of funding appropriations or other authorizations as well as the contested War Powers Act.” When the government feels threatened then they send in the armed forces before try to settle things diplomatically.
Over the course of the time The United States has been a nation they have been created and shaped into this protector and looked upon as a babysitter for the world, When Iran was trying to build a nuclear warhead the United states said with the support of many other nations if they build a warhead then The United States would send in military units. “On Iran, however, the same proportion of people — 58 percent — favored the United States taking military action to stop Iran from manufacturing a bomb, an action that President Obama has repeatedly warned the Iranian government is a “red line” for the United States.” It clearly shows that the United states has evolved into this guardian of the world and works to try and keep world order.
The United States as a whole tries to govern the world and force everyone to follow our rules and leadership when something doesn’t go our way then we invade them or threaten them with the risk of having our military invading them.
